Richard D. McKie

Mr. McKie graduated from Pepperdine School of Law, where he was the three-year recipient of a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. During his time at Pepperdine, Mr. McKie received a certificate from Pepperdine's top-ranked Straus Institute for Alternative Dispute Resolution. Mr. McKie obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During his time at UCSB, Mr. McKie was a member of the school's division one men's lacrosse team and graduated with Dean's Honors.

Mr. McKie has represented clients in nearly all areas of complex civil litigation. This includes,

but is not limited to, professional liability, product liability, personal injury, medical malpractice,

trucking and transportation, real estate transactions, employment law and business litigation. For the majority of Mr. McKie’s career, his legal practice has focused on high exposure matters in State and Federal courts across the country. Being exposed to complex lawsuits, early in his

career, is what ultimately hooked Mr. McKie to the world of high-stakes litigation.

Mr. McKie has extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants throughout all

stages of litigation. This includes during the pleading stage, discovery, negotiating settlements,

arguing dispositive motions, and obtaining winning verdicts by way of both jury and bench

trials.

Mr. McKie has been recognized by Super Lawyers as one of their “Rising Stars” for 2024 and 2026.
